OPEX is the first gym I ever joined where I don’t feel like I am being judged on my appearance and how ‘fit’ I am. It is an understatement to say how lucky and grateful I am to have someone like June as my coach. June is always pushing me to my best, stepping me out of my comfort zone, and making me feel better about myself; physically and mentally. i joined OPEX seven months ago and I already see a tremendous change in myself, I can’t wait to see what the future has to offer.

One of my favorite things about OPEX South Brooklyn is that it’s a space that is positive and productive for some many people. Every time I come in to workout there is a mix of folks of different ages, ability, background, you name it, all with a shared goal of self improvement. There’s no arrogance or posturing in this gym, just great coaches building and nourishing a collaborate and supportive community.
I have learned so much about how my body operates from the coaches: how to rehab old injuries, how to move, how I should be eating: all the facets of our health that we think we understand but probably have no idea about. Never have I experienced such a holistic approach to fitness. I look forward to every workout for the social interaction, the feedback and the encouragement.
